App Went Free: A Fun Math Drill App – Bugsy’s Math Quest

Bugsy Math Quest

Today we have another math app went free – Bugsy’s Math Quest.  It is a game that helps reinforce multiplication and division facts.  It is not a teaching app, but a game app that helps kids improve speed and accuracy.

Like other Bugsy apps, it features the hamster Bugsy.  The game setting is similar to Bugsy in Math Kingdom.  The difference is Bugsy in Math Kingdom only covers Addition and Subtraction, while Bugsy’s Math Quest, covers Multiplication and Division.

Kids can choose between Multiplication and Division to practice, each has 6 levels. The game play is simple – answer math questions by tapping the correct number.  If kids answer a question wrong or fail to answer a question quick enough, Bugsy loses a live (indicated by the hearts on the top-left corner of the screen), and there are 5 lives to lose, and they can only upgrade Bugsy at 3 Lives and up. Bugsy Math Quest App Kids can earn more lives by answering bonus questions.

Depends on the number of correct answers, kids earn gold, silver, or bronze badges, with golden representing the highest merit. One way to have kids to practice more, is to encourage them to get golden badges for all level.

Once kids master the facts at the easy level, parents can switch the game to hard levels.

I like the parents section.  Parents can track kids performance, see how many questions they answered right. Parents can also set the number of questions in each game.  If you tap on the green button at the top of the parents section, the app will open up a guide showing tips on how to engage kids while playing, and explain the game play in details.

Overall, Bugsy’s Math Quest is a very engaging math game that can help kids improve their multiplication and Division efficiency.  If multiplication and division are areas you are trying to work with your kids, this is a good game to use.

Bugsy’s Math Quest works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD.  It is usually $2.99 on App Store, it is FREE for limited time.

It’s more or less like the Time Table android app, but it looks much more fun. 🙂

    • It is a well designed app for the little ones. Kids will love it.
