Practice Math Facts with Math Slicer Games

Math Slicer

If you are looking for a fun way for kids to learn their times tables or math facts in general then, you will be interested in our recent discovery. Math Slicer, by Thumb storm, turns kids into Math ninjas. It is a fun math game for math facts.

On opening, the app players can choose to work with Multiplication, division, addition or subtraction. Each operation shows a visual list of fact families to practice. During game play, math facts will appear on a chalkboard. Very quickly several possible answers will be launched across the screen. The player has to quickly ‘slice’ the correct answer before it falls.

On the game screen 15 circles are shown along the bottom, these will be checked or crossed as each fact is answered. If all 15 are correct, the player is rewarded with 5 eggs. Bonus eggs also pop up in the game and are awarded for returning to practice. The Eggs can used to ‘purchase’ new backgrounds, slicers and helpers for tougher questions. Practice Math Facts with Math Slicer Games The speed the answers move can also be altered to suit beginner through expert player. The app also tracks how well players are doing.

I liked that it encouraged quick thought and any chance of counting on fingers or toes to arrive at an answer. Our third grader usually resists any timed math quizzes. The app, however, proved to be an enjoyable way for her to practice her multiplication facts. I would recommend this app to parents and teachers of kids K-5. It would also be suitable for older kids and adults looking to practice mental math calculations.

Math Slicer is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad for $0.99 on App Store. It is also available for Android on Google Play and Amazon.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
