Smithsonian Dinosaur eBooks for Kids

Smithsonian Prehistoric Pals

Do you know a young Dinosaur fan? If so, you will want to check out a new collection of dinosaur eBooks app for kids from Smithsonian and Oceanhouse Media: Prehistoric Pals Collection. These eBooks are interactive non-fiction apps for kids ages 5 to 8 and all content are verified by the experts at the Smithsonian Institute. They are non-fiction books, but all have simple storylines to keep children’s interest. Dinosaur eBook Collection from SmithSonian

10 titles are included in this book app collection:

  • Ankylosaurus Fights Back
  • Saber-Tooth Trap
  • Is Apatosaurus Okay?
  • Mosasaurus: Ruler of the Sea
  • Pteranodon Soars
  • A Busy Day for Stegosaurus
  • It’s Tyrannosaurus Rex!
  • Triceratops Gets Lost
  • Velociraptor: Small and Speedy
  • Woolly Mammoth In Trouble

Each of these titles take the reader back to prehistoric times with the detailed and colorful illustrations. They are written to keep a child’s interest and are full of great facts. Like all Oceanhouse Media Books these titles can be narrated, read silently or read aloud and recorded for playback. Parents will love word tapping feature even more than the children in this series because it gives them the chance to hear the correct pronunciation of those long Dinosaur names!

The quality of the app was what we have come to expect from Oceanhouse media and we would definitely recommend all the titles in this collection . Our favorites though was ‘A Busy Day for Stegosaurus’  because of the pictures of the baby stegosaurus and the underdog story of ‘Ankylosaurus Fights Back’. My 4-year-old is amazed that other dinosaurs used to stand up to T-Rex. If your preschool to 2nd Grade child prefers to read non fiction and/or enjoys learning all about dinosaurs, I would suggest you add Smithsonian Prehistoric pals to your app collection. It would be perfect to keep them reading over the summer break.

Smithsonian Prehistoric Pals Collection (including all 10 titles) is available on iPad and iPhone for $14.99. Each title can also be purchased separately for $1.99 each (links are not provided).

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
