Fun Game App for Kids Developing Multiple Senses

Astropolo App

Astropolo is a relatively new app on the App Store, but they’ve been staying on the top chart for quite a long time. It is from one of my favorite developer Les Trois Elles, who developed Easy Studio. Astropolo is a collection of mini games that incorporates visual, auditory and fine motor skills in the play. I love the clever design on play ideas that uses multiple senses and skills. fun kids game app developing multiple senses

There are 8 games in the app. The first game is Build-A-Rocket. Kids sort through different combinations of 3 piece rocket ship and launch it into the space. This leads to the 2nd game Take Off. In this game, kids use sound to control the rocket and lead it to the moon. Kids have to figure out how to use voice to control the rocket’s move, when to be louder, when to calm down.

Next game Zleepy is also a sound game. Zleepy needs a lullaby to help him fall into sleep. Kids need sing the song loud enough for Zleepy to hear, but not too loud to wake him up.

Next kids will help Santa to catch the run away reindeers. But kids have to be careful not to touch any other animals. What a great practice of visual scanning.

Once kids help Santa catch all the reindeers, it is time to help Laika to clear the obstacles on her way. Those obstacles sometimes look like a background decoration making it hard to see all of them. Over the course, they come at a faster speed, which requires quicker hand-eye coordination.

Once achieving clearing obstacles for Laika, kids will see Mr. Kissnot, who is not happy, or very angry. Kids will draw hearts to send him love. The more hearts Mr.Kissnot recieves, the better his mood is. The trick is to draw the heart in one continuous line without stop, and the starting and ending point must overlap to close the heart. Kids gain fine motor practice and learn the concept of symmetry.

I hope you get an idea about the games. All games require multiple senses and skills that are essential for child’s development.

Astropolo is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is $2.99 on App Store.
