Math addition fact is a very critical stage in kids math learning. The better the kids know about the facts, the quicker they can solve the problems. You really want this part of the math become an automatic process, i.e. you want the kids know the facts so well, that they memorize them and the answers can just come out without thinking. The benefit of this is more free brain space to think about more complicated solutions when they need to. As kids move up grades, the math problems are going beyond simple addition, subtraction, or multiplication. It is never too much practice in math facts. Today we share a new math app helping kids practice math facts in addition. It is called MathSplat.

MathSplat is designed for kids just start practice addition. There are 3 difficulty levels: single digit; numbers up to 20; and numbers up to 100. Parents or teachers can set the level for each kid. The app can have 3 kids’ profiles.

When kids start, they are asked an addition problem, they can use the number line at the bottom of the screen to help them figure out the answer. Once they know the answer, they can use the number pad to enter the answer. If they get the correct answer, they receive another problem. If they did not answer the question correctly, they are given another chance.

For every 5 correctly answered questions, kids get to pick a piece to build a rocket. Kids need finish 4 sessions to finish a rocket, and launch it.

Parents can review each child’s result in the parent section, which include detailed information on which problem was answered wrong, and number of tries for the kids to get the correct answer.

Overall, MathSplat is a fun addition fact practice app for kids, especially if your child likes space and rockets. It is available for iPad, and is $1.99 on App Store.
