Create Your Own Story with Dora and Friends

Create Your Own Story with Dora and Friends post image

Nick Jr has a brand new app Dora and Friends that combines kid-friendly fun with imaginative language building skills parents will love. In the app Dora the Explorer received a bit of a makeover. Dora is now ten and is exploring the city with her friends and a brand new ‘map app’. Kids can create their own adventures with ten interactive scenes, all the characters, fun props and music from the show. Dora and Friends App - open play for kids

On the opening screen, players can view all the character or create up to 4 of their own. After selecting a setting for a new adventure, kids can add Dora and her friends and some props. Moving characters around kids can have them interact with the props, even dance if kids add one of the portable music players. When kids are ready for recording, they can record everything, from narrating the adventure story, to moving the characters and props. All the recorded stories and movement can be saved for playback.

Although Dora the show is aimed towards the preschool age group, the app, however has a wider appeal. Our 4.5 year old was eager to the try the app after seeing the show, but initially didn’t take to it as many of the puzzles or learning Nick Jr apps. It was not until she played with her drama crazy nine-year-old sister that she realized what she could do. Now she enjoys making custom characters and her own ‘plays’. I would suggest guiding your preschoolers through this app, at least initially. Otherwise, they may not appreciate all the features.

I would recommend downloading this app for Kids of 3-8 years. It is currently available on iOS devices for $2.99.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
