Have Fun on Road Trips with Sago Mini

Have Fun on Road Trips with Sago Mini post image

We introduced an app helping kids learn about airplane trips, today we share an app about car road trips: Sago Mini Road Trip. It is designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Like all Sago Mini apps, it is a free play app, with no time limits, no levels. Via playing with the app, kids will get the ideas on what are involved in a road trip by car.

When kids open the app, they will see 3 options. Each option is a different destination, and a different friend stays there. Kids can pick the place they want to visit, or pick the friend they want to meet.

Once the destination is picked, it is time to pack. Kids will pick the clothes, shoes, toys, and other items that maybe needed, such as hat, sunscreen. This is the place parents can talk with kids what to take for the road trip, what kind of clothes to pack (based on the weather at the destination, not that at home).

Next is to pick the car. Kids will love the choices they have. My favorite is the hot dog. But you will also see a bathtub, a big shoe, … besides some more typical cars. I like the place where the trunk pop open for kids to put in the luggage. Then it is time to jump into the car and get on the road.

The driving is easy. Kids simply lead the car by a finger. Tapping at a spot higher on the screen will lift the car off the ground, making it jump or fly, depending on the speed. There will be barriers on the road, such as a box, a rock, but kids can always drive through them with no problem. There is no negative consequences for doing that. Also along the road, kids may run into a river, a muddy place, or a bridge.

It is totally up to each child as to how fast they want to drive. They can drive very very fast and get to the destination quickly, or they can stop once a while, enjoy the scenery. There will be different attractions along the road, some are city buildings, some are farm animals.

Along the road, there are two stops: gas station and car wash. Kids can stop at one or both, or completely skip them.

After kids drive the car to the destination and meet the friend, they can start all over again, pick a different destination and a different car to start a new trip.

The app is very toddler friendly. There are many travel related topics parents can talk with kids. In the parents section, you can find some good suggestions on talking points. Based on kids age, parent can decide how much to talk through with the kids.

Sago Mini Road Trip is available on iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is also available for Android on Amazon app store, and Windows devices on Windows Store.
