There are 3 levels of games. Kids can not skip levels. However, parents can adjust the word list, either by creating customized new list, or change the words on existing list. Parents can add as many kid profiles as needed. This makes it possible for classroom use as well.
Kids go to the word town, search various buildings for gold. At each place, they have to find the hidden word, which always has missing letters. Kids need collect letters whenever they see one, and use the appropriate letter to spell the word. If they spell the word correctly, they unlock the door or other entries to the next room. Along the way, they also collect any gold they found. They need collect enough gold for each level to move on.
For kids who like to solve puzzle this is a perfect way to keep them engaged in sight word learning. The whole story line, plus the interactive setting and interesting music, makes it a fun game for kids, yet they are learning sight words.
Another nice feature is that kids can record themselves speaking the words. The the words show up in the game, they will hear their own voice reading out loud those words before they spell the words. It is an optional feature that uses can turn it on or off.
