A Comprehensive App Matching School Curriculum

iTooch

When I reviewed the SplashMath App, I was really in love with the app. Because it provides a comprehensive math exercise for kids at elementary school, with all the contents aligned with school curriculum.  Today I am even more excited to share another app that is also linked with school curriculum, and what is more, it includes Math, Language Art, and Science for Grade 3 to 5, and Health for Grade 5 – this is a total of 10 titles.  iTooch Elementary School is a great app for kids in Grade 3 to 5.  It is especially great for using at home, so parents don’t have to go out search for apps at their kids’ level.  All you need to know is your child’s grade level and the subject or topic you want the child to practice on, say, math 2-digit multiplication.

The structure of the app is very intuitive.  The iTooch Elementary School is a shell app.  Within the app, you will find 10 titles, Grade 3 Math, Grade 3 Language Art, .., Grade 4 Math, …, etc. You can download the shell app for free, with some sample questions under each title.  If you are interested in getting the full package of any of the 10 titles, you can purchase it via In-App Purchase.  Each title costs $4.99.iTooch Elementary School App

There are so many nice features in the app.  I don’t think I can cover all in details.  I will highlight a couple of them that I like the most.

First of all, it is the alignment with school curriculum.  It takes all the guess work out.  For busy parents, it is frustrating when you think you find the right exercise book for your child, and then find out it is too hard or too easy for him/her.  With iTooch, you don’t have to guess anymore.  It saves parents time and money.  It also makes homeschool a lot easier.

Second, it is very comprehensive and detailed on sub-topics.  Here is an example: for 3rd Grade Math, under Geometry, you will see 11 sub-topics, including Polygons, Quadrilaterals, and Perimeter. There are 1500 to 4500 questions under each of the 10 titles.

There is a practice mode and a test mode.  Kids can practice on the subject first, then take a timed test.  If they did not do well in tests, they can go back to practice for more exercises.

There is a built-in notepad, kids can write on with fingers.  This is very handy if kids need do some calculations for the math problems.

Last, there is a wide variety of question types.  In addition to multiple choices, there are questions kids have to fill in blanks, type in numbers, true or false.  For each sub-topic, the question type changes, so kids are less likely to be bored, and stay engaged better.

The only thing I wish the app can offer is a tracking feature.  It will be great if parents can track kids progress on each subject.

iTooch is developed by EduPad.  It works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD.  It is FREE with some sample questions for each title.  The full packages are available at $4.99 via In-App Purchase.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.

  • Mahwesh

ITooch apps seem interesting, I would love to have any aap which teaches kids, and increases their general knowledge. Science tops my list, then language (as English is the lingua franca of the modern world and my kid’s second language). I would go to an arms length to give the best to my kids. I wouldn’t leave Maths behind, as without it you couldn’t do a lot.

    • It is hard to choose. I have used the math the most so far. I think I am going to use the science more.
