Trucks – Byron Barton is a book app for kids age 2 to 5. It teaches kids all different types of trucks: bread truck, garbage truck, newspaper truck… With the distinctly colorful illustration, short sentences, and clear professional narration, it is a perfect book for kids who just start reading. The realistic background sound effect is another good feature that help kids learn about the trucks.
The developer of the app is one of my favorite, Oceanhouse Media. Like all other book apps from them, the app has the “word-picture” association feature. When kids tap on a picture on the page, the corresponding word will zoom and be read aloud. If kids tap on a single word, that word will be repeated. If kids tap the words and hold, the whole sentence will be read again.
In addition to Trucks, the Byron Barton Transportation series includes Trains, Boats, and Planes. I did not review the others, but having seen enough apps from Oceanhouse Media, I am sure they will just be as good.
Trucks – Byron Barton works on iPhone, iPod, and iPAD. It is $1.99 on App Store.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.
