App Review and Giveaway: SAT Vocabulary

Sat Vocabulary Visuals and Audios

After I reviewed Word A Day Visuals and Audios, I found out the developer VocabAhead has some other vocabulary apps.  One of them is SAT Vocabulary Visuals and Audios.  It has over 1000 SAT most common words.  Like Word A Day Visuals and Audios, SAT Vocabulary uses funny pictures and story audios to help kids learn.  I like their full-brain learning approach a lot.  With the combined effect of visuals, audios, and contextual storylines, it makes understanding and mastering tough English words a lot easier.

When kids open the app, they will see three sections: Take Quiz, Study Words, and Flash Cards.  If this is the first time a child opens the app, he/she can either choose Study Words or Flash Cards.  In Study Words, kids have 3 lists – My List, Don’t Know, and Mastered.  First the child has to pick words from the Don’t Know list to study and to put under My List.  Once the words under My List are learned, the child can take a quiz.  The words that were answered correctly are moved to Mastered.  At this time, the kid can go back to the Don’t Know list to pick more words to study. Flash Cards is quite similar to Quiz, except the words are picked from the whole list of 1000 words in the app.  Kids won’t be able to mark any word as Mastered.  It only provides a way of practice.

Not like Word A Day Visuals and Audios, there is no limit on number of words a kid can learn each day from the app.

iGameMom Comment:

I like this app a lot. I like their full-brain approach.  It makes preparing for SAT a little more fun and easier for the kids.  You don’t need be preparing SAT to use this app though.  Anyone who wants to improve their English Vocabulary can benefit from this app.

SAT Vocabulary works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD.  It is $19.99 on App Store.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.

It is also available for Android.  There are two apps for Androind: SAT Vocab Visuals & Audios Vol 1 and SAT Vocab Visuals & Audios Vol 2, each has about 500 words, and each is $4.99 on Amazon.

It seems it is still on promotion price on Google Play: SAT Vocab Visuals & Audios Vol 1 and SAT Vocab Visuals & Audios Vol 2, each is $2.99 right now.

Note: This review is based on the iOS app only.  I did not review the Android apps.

  • Hi iGameMom

Thanks for the opportunity! I have just accessed two of your recommended app’s from your site (hope you get that percentage!). I would also like to do a shoutout on my intrepidallergymum facebook page about the great information you have available for parents.

It would also be great if you would be happy for me to reblog your review on the Leo’s Pad Appisode 1 – this looks terrific and it is one of the two I have just clicked through for download from your site.

Keep up the great work! PS we are loving Puzzingo!

    • Thanks for sharing the post. I am not sure how reblog works, but what I heard is if two sites have the same content, Google will punish both on search index. So the best way to re-share is to have a short summary and link the original post after your short summary. Hope this make sense, if it doesn’t, I understand. In fact, I am learning all these myself. If you know a better way to do it, please let me know. Thanks again!
