Sneak a Snack is a fun interactive book app telling a story about a boy Alex who tries to solve the mystery of his missing snack. Alex comes home after school and fixes himself a huge snack. Just when he is ready to enjoy the food, his mom calls for help from upstairs. When he comes back to the kitchen, his snack is gone! He investigates all three pets, but none of them admits taking the snack. …
It is a fun story to read. Besides the story itself, I love the unique interactive features in this app.
On each page of the book, if kids tilt the iPAD, they will gain more views of the picture, like looking at the street out of the window – when you move a little you will see different parts of the street simply because you change your view angle. This feature makes each page fun to explore.
Other interactive features in the app are also fun to play, like imaging the school bus becoming a rocket, putting jelly on the bread.
Kids can have the story read to them or they can read it by themselves. The narration is done by a boy’s voice, but it is very clear and fun. The app offers two languages, English and French, a nice feature for bilingual kids.
The artwork is bright and colorful, inviting kids to explore more of the app.
Sneak a Snack has two versions. One works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD, is $0.99 on App Store. The HD version only works on iPAD, usually $2.99, it is free for limited time. – Update: it is not free anymore.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
