Country Mouse and City Mouse

Country Mouse and City Mouse is another book app by McGraw Hill.  It is FREE for limited time.   It is a very cute book with just about right interactions on each page.  It is designed for kids age 3 to 8.  It is only available on iPAD.

Introduction on App Store:

Country Mouse and City Mouse may live in very different worlds, but through the pages in this book, they still become friends.  With this interactive ebook, your child can join in the fun as the mice explore each world together.

By interacting with the characters and scenes in the story, your child will learn about the city and the country and can discuss with you the similarities and differences between the two places.Country Mouse and City Mouse

The familiar story will come alive like never before, and your child will read it again and again!  Engaging art supported by kid-friendly narration makes the story more accessible than ever.

This interactive story can be read in two ways:
• Read aloud—Listen to the narrated story
• Read it myself—Child reads the story at their own pace without a narrator

Additional Features:
•Moral of the story: Its nice to visit friends, but home is best
•Beautiful illustrations make the story unforgettable
•Interactive reading experience reaches the child in a new way

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.

  • Great idea for a blog – recently bought a copy of reality is broken:How video games can change the world by Jane McGonigal which I can’t wait to read. Noticed that you liked a few posts on my site http://educoup.wordpress.com/ and would love for you to follow if you enjoy the blog, as its needed at this early stage. Of course its up to you and I don’t mean to seem spammy!

    Thanks,

Little Red Hen is no longer free, though this one still is as is Jack and the Beanstalk. Thanks for the heads up! Stocking up on apps in preparation for an invasion of tiny humans into my life soon.

    • Thank you for the updates! Jack and the Beanstalk is another good book app from McGraw Hill.

  • Help, If I don’t have itunes, where else can i download these apps?
I purchased a Lenova tablet about 3 months ago and love it. I let my grands play on it with learning apps downloaded from google. Thanks Much!

    • Unfortunately this app is only available on iPAD. Sound like you have a device with Android. There are some apps reviewed here also have Android version. Here is a list of apps available on Android devices.

  • Brilliant, i love the ipad and all the apps you can get but sometimes you can sit and look for hours for the app you want then someone finds it and has had it for ages! Im hoping on my blog like your to share all these great apps!

  • When I was a kid, I used to read that book all the time and recently, I ran across the book that I had put away and was able to read it to Rocket, my grandson, it’s a great story with wonderful themes. A free app would be great for anyone with children to have!!

    • I love the story. It teaches kids like his/her own home, and respect others’ choices. I like what my son said after he helped me review the app: there is no good or bad home. It is simply what you feel comfortable with.
