I love Face iMake apps, they are creative and fun. Their newest app is Faces iMake ABC. It’s an app designed to help kids learn letters in the same creative ways of their earlier apps. It is free for limited time, so make sure check it out.
There are two parts in the app: Learn ABC and Find ABC.
Learn ABC: kids pick a letter from the letter tray at the bottom. They will see the letter come up and a picture of an object whose name begins with the chosen letter. What is really fun is that picture is made of objects kids see every day. For the letter E, kids will see an elephant made of chalkboard, balloon, and buttons. While the picture is fun, but it disappears quickly, with only a puzzle template left on the screen, and several everyday objects spread out at the bottom. Kids have to pick the objects to put the puzzles together again. Some are easy, some are not.
Find ABC: kids pick a letter, then a selection of everyday objects shown on the screen. Kids have to pick the objects that have starting letters as the chosen letters.
Those artistic object pictures are put together by the world renowned artist Hanoch Piven. Kids can hear the artist giving instructions in the app. The bright color, the fun music, and the easy interface make it a wonderful learning app for young children. In addition to learning letters, kids also learn to recognize shapes, while putting the puzzles together. It is also an interesting experience to discover art in our everyday life. Who could ever think of using a dice for elephant’s eye, and button as elephant’s ear?
