I liked the app Petting Zoo a lot, so when I saw the same developer has another app Hat Monkey, I had to get it. Hat Monkey is an interactive book app for toddlers to kindergarteners. But I ensure you that people of all ages will love it.
It is a story about a cute monkey who wears a hat all the time. Kids are welcomed by the monkey on the opening screen, pointing to the arrow that opens up the interactive fun. The text gives kids the cue what they need do next. On the first page, it says “Monkey is coming! Can you open the door?” On the next screen, kids see the head of the monkey passing through the window walking towards the door. Kids need tap the door to let the monkey in. If kids don’t open the door right away, the monkey will knock on the door, turn the door knob up and down, come to the window to wave at you, and even bang on the window. Once kids open the door, the monkey comes in, giving kids high five and dancing.
From this point on, the monkey will play with kids just like a mischievous child. He will hide and ask kids to find him; he will ask kids to send him texts (all are within the app); he will invite kids to give him high fives, but his hands don’t stay still all the time; he will show kids dance moves and challenge kids to follow his steps; he will ask kids to give him a call, or he will call the kids; he will ask kids to feed him a banana, then step on the peel by accident; …
I love the simple art work. The colors are not typical my choices, but somehow they are just so perfect in the picture. The animation gives the monkey a lovely character that everyone would enjoy playing with him.
The app can be read in 14 different languages, including English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese.
Hat Monkey is available on iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is usually $2.99 on App Store.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
