App Went Free: The Three Little Pigs from Nosy Crow

The Three Little Pigs by Nosy Crow

I liked all Nosy Crow’s apps. When I saw The Three Little Pigs by Nosy Crow is free this week, I know I can’t miss it.  The Three Little Pigs story has been made into many books and apps, but this 3D interactive storybook is so well made and you should really get it, especially when it is free for limited time.

There are three ways for the kids to read the story: Read and Play, Read to Me, and Read by Myself.

On each page, kids will read the main text for the story. When they tap on each character, they will hear something from each that are extensions of the main text, and enrich the story greatly.  For example, on the page the three pigs on their way to explore, the first pig says “I wish we could have a rest”; the second pig says “This plant is heavy”; and the third pig says “I wonder what is up there”.  If kids are on the Read and Play mode, and if they tap on each figure multiple times, they will hear the character say something different each time. 3D Interactive Book App - The Three Little Pigs by Nosy Crow

Each page has sophisticated animations. Tapping on the characters make them do silly things, like jump, flip or spin. Kids can blow to the screen to help blow down the pigs’ houses, they can also help the pigs build the houses. They can make the wolf move faster while he is chasing the pigs. They can also push the wolf down the chimney into the hot pot.

Make sure tilt the screen on each page. Kids will be amazed that they can see more scenes while turning the screen to different angles.

The narration is in a child’s voice. It is fun and clear. Each character has his/her own voice and music.

The illustrations are vivid and detailed, give the story a realistic feel.

It is a wonderful storybook for your digital library.

The Three Little Pigs by Nosy Crow is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is usually $4.99 on App Store, it is free for limited time.
