Easter devotional apps for kids

Fruits for Little Lamb

Today we are sharing some Easter devotional apps for kids.  Although iGameMom is not associated with any particular religion, I believe religion is a good window for us to look into a culture.  Having lived in 4 countries with completely different cultual, I appreciate any opportunity to expose my child to a different cultual.  I am glad our reviewer JJ the Piwi mama explored Easter devotional apps to share with us.  Let’s see what Piwi Mama have for us. 6 Easter Devotional Apps for Kids

This week the Piwi’s and I are taking a ‘Spring break’. We have put aside the regular curriculum and are busy with a  Holy week unit study. After some research I found some great Christian Easter apps for our activities. This is a list of the ones we can recommend:

Easter hunt devotional (Free)  This is an interactive devotional app to share as a family.  Your child(ren) play a game to find a  ‘treasure’ which represents the theme for that day’s devotional. Parents can then read the devotional and lead a discussion. It reminded me a lot of resurrection eggs. The devotionals included are more appropriate for school age kids, but younger ones will love the games and egg hunt.

Life of Jesus series: includs The Baptism of Jesus, Miracles,  The last Supper, and The Cross.  All are very good reads. The music, illustrations  and interaction are really bright and fun. My 7-year-old has read them over and over. Most of the apps are free with the story and some puzzles and coloring pages. If you wish to unlock the rest of the activities, each title has a $1.99 in app purchase option.Easter Hunt Devotional Free App

Animated bible stories and games series from Barcelona Multemedia also offers a great selection of titles, such as Bible Comic Books ($1.99), Bible Games (free).   The text stays consistent with the bible but the clear comic strip illustrations make it a lot easier for children to understand. Bible Games can be used test how much kids learned about the bible.

Fruits for little lamb ($1.99): I downloaded this one for my 3year old. It is a sweet book by Leslie Ann Clark full of the virtues we strive to teach our children.

The Toddler Bible: Easter story by David C Cook ($0.99): is also perfect for younger kids. It is written and illustrated in a way that taught the message of Easter without being scary for little ones.

He is Risen: An Easter Story ($2.99) is our favorite discovery in this search.  It  is an interactive story app from NEST Family Apps. The story begins as Jesus dies and is not graphic in its images. The cross is shown on a hill in the distance. We follow the apostles through their grief and then jubilation after Jesus is resurrected. It is fairly long so younger children may not want to hear it in one sitting. Thankfully there are activities such as Mazes, Word puzzles and Coloring pages. The puzzles and reading modes can be altered for the reader.  For parents there are also suggested  questions to use to discuss the story together. This app is available for $2.99.
