8 Free Christmas Apps for Kids

8 Free Christmas Apps for Kids - holiday fun on the go while visiting families and friends or during travel
Jingle All the Way : a warm story about a lovely dog Jingle, who finally find a home for the holiday. It is made by Hallmark in conjunction with their interactive toy dog. However, you don’t need the toy to enjoy the book. A nice story to read with the kids during the holiday season.

Christmas Carols for kids : used to be called Jolly Jingle for the holiday. You can have the favorite kids holiday song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sang to you in 4 different ways, kids choir, female solo, and two different instruments. Kids can follow the lyrics on the screen while singing along. If you want more songs, you can buy more via In-App purchase.

Bo’s Matching Game : a holiday themed memory game. There are two different types of games in the app. One is the traditional memory matching, where kids can choose 6, 12, or 20 cards to play with. The other is also a matching game with a little holiday twist, and can be played by two kids. Kids will have fun decorating the holiday tree.

Kidzania : it is an app letting kids make digital greeting cards. It is not a particular holiday app, but can be definitely used to make holiday cards. Kids can choose different themes and backgrounds, import their own pictures, adding words on the picture. It will be a fun activity for the kids.

Elf Yourself : A fun app from OfficeMax. You can import up to 5 person’s pictures to make them happy elves. After you import the pictures, you can just sit back and watch the elves dance to the holiday music. It is hilarious to watch! The office scene is free. There are 8 more background scenes available via In-App Purchase.

Wombi Christmas : kids work in a toy store fixing broken toys. In this free holiday version, kids have 5 toys to fix, among them are Christmas tree and gingerbread man. Some of the fixes are not necessary obvious. It is a good app to help kids learn problem solving.

Fiete Christmas : An advent calendar on your mobile device! Kids uncover one toy each day. All unwrapped presents are interactive and be combined freely to allow a maximum of creativity. To build a house with the blocks or to drive a car over a bridge… The open ended play will ease the anxious waiting before Santa shows up.

Santa’s Home : a very simple app that let kids watch Santa’s daily activity at his home.  Kids can see each room in Santa’s house “live”. This morning, we saw Santa was eating breakfast, and while I am writing this post, he is packing up gifts. It is not an app you can expect much interaction or play, but if you get the question “when will Santa come” couple times a day, you might consider sending your little one to Santa’s Home.

Enjoy the free Christmas Apps.

I have just recently started getting into Apps on my phone. I think it is great that there are so many to choose from especially free ones. I do prefer the educational ones though. New follower via G+ and Twitter.
