Another Monster at the End of This Book, sequel to The Monster at the End of This Book, is set to FREE today, as a result of sponsorship. Now when you open the app, you will see a sponsored ad at the beginning and the end of the story as a way to support the app. There is no way to stop the ad showing up, but you can turn it off after it appears. If you don’t want your child see the ad, don’t hand the iPAD to kids till you closed the ad. No ads show up during the story. But there is one at the end showing another Sesame Street app. To purchase, you do have to enter a code, so it is less likely for a toddler to be able to purchase the app. There is an option to upgrade to ad free version via In-App Purchase, the cost is $3.99. I think this sponsorship offers an opportunity for anyone who is interested in the app to have a full free version to check it out, then decide if you want to stay with free version with ad, or upgrade to ad-free.
Nevertheless, Another Monster at the End of This Book is a cute little app for babies and toddlers. While Grover creates silly barriers to prevent readers from getting closer to the end of the book, Elmo asks kids help to break the barriers every time… The story won’t progress till kids took the barriers away: It could be paper clips on the pages, blocks in the middle of the book, or a steel door locked by color codes. While kids moving away these barriers, they are following instructions, practicing fine motor skills, and learning color recognition. With the authentic pictures and voices from Sesame Street, kids will have fun with their favorite characters.
Another Monster at the End of This Book works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD. It is FREE on App Store, with option to upgrade to ad-free version. The upgrade is $3.99.
