My son loves watching videos and short movie clips. He would go into Youtube, search for videos he wants to see. He found many good ones. We found some educational YouTube channels to follow. I am glad he can find educational movies and videos for free, but am also concerned that he may see something he’s not supposed to when searching for videos. That is why I immediately downloaded MagicFlix when I first read about it.
MagicFlix is a collection of videos and movie clips curated for kids age 12 and under. All videos and movies are free currently. I am not sure when the developer will re-set the price, so enjoy these high quality videos for free when you can.
To use MagicFlix is very simple. You do have to sign up with your email to ensure you are a legit person. Once you are in, you will see recommended videos at the top. Video categories, or channels as they are called in the app, are at the bottom half of the screen.
All content are educational and fun. There are over 1000 videos in the app. I love how the videos are put into channels, making it a lot easier to find the content you want.
There are 10 channels in the app: Music, Phonics, Kinderzoo, Animals, Math, NASA, News, Science, Spanish, Nature. Some of the video content partners are my favorite educational YouTube channels, like Sick Science from Steve Spangler Science, NASA eClips.
The math content is from Digits, who creates fun videos incorporating numbers and math, but are very fun and entertaining.
I particularly like the Spanish channel. I believe multimedia is the best way for kids to learn a new language, as they help reinforce the learning through different senses, audio, visual, kinetic.
I enjoyed these free educational videos a lot, and highly recommend you check it out, especially when all are free.
MagicFlix is available for iPad and Android. On Google Play it has a different name. It is free on both platform.
