Fun App Helping Kids Learn Chinese Characters

Monki Chinese Class

I have heard many parents talking about helping kids learn Chinese. Chinese is a very different language. It is pictograph based, not alphabet based. Because the difference between Chinese and English, it could be hard for English speakers to grasp Chinese. However, pictographs are in fact very fun to learn, as all characters are originated from meaningful pictures. Learning Chinese Characters from the original pictures could be a really fun activity. Learn Chinese with fun activities for kidsToday we have an app teaching kids Chinese characters via the original pictures. Do you see the mountain, the tree and the door in the picture above? Do you see the Chinese characters on top of the pictures? Aren’t they interesting? The app not only shows the pictures for all the Chinese characters, but also some light animation of each picture to bring each Chinese character to life. They will make the learning fun and make it easier to remember the characters.

There are over 20 Chinese characters included in the app so far, and 12 of them are free with the free app download.

For each Chinese character, kids will hear the pronunciation of the character, and the video showing how to write the character. Kids then are asked to trace the character 3 times, each time with a little less assistance. At the bottom of the screen is the pronunciation of the character. If kids touch the little speaker, they can hear the character again. Each character has a little animation that makes it fun to play.
