Learn about Human Skeleton with D.Bones

D Bones

Memorizing all the names and functions of the major bones in the human skeletal system can be tricky. My eight year old sums it up as ‘there are so many different kinds, and they have weird names!’ Thankfully, Isygames has created D.Bones to help 7-12 year olds learn about their bones in a visually engaging way.
Learn Human Skeleton with Fun

The game starts in a spooky graveyard, where players can choose one of three activities to learn and test their knowledge about our skeleton. These include:

The puzzle section, in which the player needs to place each bone in it’s correct location in the skeleton. There is an extra twist with snowflakes dropping into the puzzle if you are not matching quickly enough. You will then need to clear them off before continuing.

A series of flash cards let kids review the name and shape of each of the main bones and their function.

An interactive quiz tests the player’s knowledge.

Our third grader enjoyed using this app to review what she had learned this year about the Human Skeletal System. The Halloween theme in the menu might seem creepy, but the activities are there to show what our Skeleton does for us every day.

The app features the options to play in English or Spanish, it also features a soundtrack featuring music by composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Kids might not appreciate the difference in music but parents will prefer this over the beeps and buzzes of some of the noisier apps available!

Overall this is a great way to help elementary and middle school children memorize the names and locations of the bones of human body skeletal system.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.

Piwi mamaToday’s app is reviewed by JJ (Piwi mama), a proud wife and mama of two girls. The family travel with her hubby’s work so most of her time is spent teaching her kids. In her spare time, JJ blogs about their portable learning and reviews books. You can read about their travels at Learning and growing the piwi way website.

I think this is such a great idea for an app!

    • Agree, Emily. It makes it easier for kids to learn a boring subject.
