Would you like to have your child to learn Spanish? They all say it is better to start the 2nd language when kids are young. However, if you don’t speak the language yourself, it will be hard to teach your child the 2nd language at a young age. Signing up for a class? I don’t feel it is a good idea for young children. Kids need play, not another class. One solution I found is to read bilingual books for children with both Spanish and English. We found quite a few wonderful resources for Spanish-English bilingual materials that are attractive to kids. Today I found another wonderful app for kids to learn Spanish with cute monsters.
Endless Spanish is a new app from the developer of Endless Numbers. It is a free app, with the plays for the 6 letters free. For each letter, there is a word starting with the letter. Kids will watch a dynamite short cartoon that goes with the meaning of the word. For example, for “Flor” (flower), kids will have to first put the letters into the word puzzle. Each time when they touch the letter, they will see a funny reaction from the letter monsters, and hear the letter sound for each in Spanish. Then a sentence including that word will show up, but before you can read it, a group of monsters will run through the sentence, and knock down some words. Kids will need put the words back to the sentences. As soon as kids complete the sentence, they will watch a short animation of a monster doing something related to the word. For Flor, it is a monster climbing up the stem to reach a flower and enjoy the nice smell of the flower.
There are two options in the app. One is to completely use it in Spanish. If you choose this option, there will be no English in the whole play. Another option is English and Spanish bilingual. With this option, each time after the monsters say the words or sentences in Spanish, they will say it in English afterwards.
Endless Spanish is a fun app for kids to learn Spanish. It is good for both English speakers who are learning Spanish as a second language, and native Spanish speakers. It is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
