Two, there are ways for hands on educational activities using tablets. Yes, you can do a lot hands on learning activities with kids with your tablets. Today we share some smart ways to use tablets with kids during travel.
smart ways to use tablets with kids for family travel - thinking about using tablets with kids during travel, but concerned they spending too much time on screen? Kids don't have to play games or watch movies on tablets when travelling, there are many simple and fun learning activities you can do with kids on tablets. The No.3 & 4 are our favorites. Which one will work for your kids?
Counting and simple math with sticker apps: there are many free drawing apps, such as paint sparkles. With these apps, you can pick a certain number of stickers of one kind and then a certain number of stickers of another kind, and then ask kids to do addition. If your app doesn’t have stickers, you can simply draw some shapes, like triangles and circles.

Storytelling with drawing or sticker apps: similar to math exercises, you can draw with kids with these drawing apps, and then try to make stories with your drawings.

Play Tic Tac Toe with drawing apps: again using the drawing app, this time draw a Tic Tac Toe game board, and play that.

Make family travel silhouette with photo and drawing app: all tablets have built-in photo apps. Take a photo of the family, then import the photo into your drawing app. Kids can pick a person on the photo and trace the outline of that person and color everything on that figure in one color, and the rest in white. You now have a silhouette of that person. Take a screen shot of the silhouette, and enjoy your travel keepsake.

Guess the word: think of a word that your kids are learning, and write the word out on the screen, but leave blank spaces for some of the letters. Ask your kids to fill in the blanks. Depending on your children’s learning level, after they fill in all the letters and find the word, you can also ask them to use the word to make a sentence, or as part of a story.

These are some great tips! My two boys (ages 3 and 4) like to use my iPad. I closely monitor what they can play and only allow educational games. I like the suggestion about telling stories from the pictures you have drawn the best. We have a couple of rainy days next week and will have to give that a try.
