Disney Storytime: Read 20 Disney Stories in One App

Disney Storytime

Disney just launched a new app Disney Storytime.  It has 20 Disney Stories all in one app, the largest collection of Disney stories to-date.  Three stories come with the initial download, and parents can buy credits for more books.  The three initial stories are: Toy Story: Starry Night; Tangled: Rapunzel’s Story; and Monsters, Inc: Always Time for a Laugh.

When kids open the app, they see their favorite characters on the top and book titles with pictures at the bottom.  They can pick what they want to read by tapping on a character, or tapping on a book title.  The books are all simple books with no on screen interactions.  This makes it a perfect app for bed-time read, when you want children to calm down.

There are three options to read: Read by myself, Read to me, or Record my own voice.  The words were highlighted individually while read with the “Read to me” option. Looks like more and more kids’ book apps are having the “record my own voice” feature.  It is a great way to encourage kids to read more.  It is also good for parents who travel a lot.  You can record your reading for the kids to hear your voice even when you are not around.

The credit system is interesting too. Parents purchase credits.  With the credits, child is able to choose which additional stories they’d like.  This gives kids the freedom of making decisions, yet the total cost is still under parents’ control.

Additional titles besides the first 3 that are available:

Cars: RematchDisney Storytime App
Cars: Radiator Springs Road Trip
Finding Nemo: A Friend in Need
Toy Story: A Tight Squeeze
Toy Story: Mixed Signals
Incredibles: Super Annoying
The Little Mermaid: A Special Song
Cinderella: The Lost Mice
Beauty and the Beast: Belle and the Castle Puppy
Princess And The Frog: A Surprise Guest
Sleeping Beauty: Buttercup the Brave
Wall-E: Down to Earth
Up: Watch Dug
Aladdin: Abu’s Adventure
Lion King: A Day Without Pumbaa
101 Dalmatians: Puppy Trouble
The Aristocats: The Coziest Carriage

Disney Storytime is available for $1.99 on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch! After 3 free books, parents can purchase credits via In-App Purchase: 2 credits for $2.99, 5 credits for $4.99, and 17 credits for $8.99. Each credit is for one book, so 17 credits is maximum you need to have all 20 books.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.

Thanks for discussing your ideas. I’d also like to convey that video games have been at any time evolving. Better technology and improvements have made it simpler to create reasonable and interactive games. Most of these entertainment video games were not actually sensible when the concept was being experimented with. Just like other kinds of electronics, video games also have had to evolve by means of many years. This is testimony towards the fast development of video games.
