Free App: Kids Stay Safe Online with Little Bird

Be Safe Online with Little Bird

Kids are spending more and more time online, on computers, tablets, or video games.

With the new technologies, kids don’t have to sit in front of a computer to be online, they can connect to the internet or a online network via tablets, video games. They can get connected while playing games on your phone at the airport.
Free Book Teaching Young Children Internet Safety
What are kids seeing online? What to do if kids see something not age appropriate?

Children’s online safety has been most parents’ concern. It is especially challenging to teach young kids about internet safety. Today I found a wonderful and FREE book app teaching kids how to stay safe online in a way a preschooler or kindergartener can easily understand.

Little Bird is a FREE book developed for kids 3 to 6 years old.  In the book, the Little Bird was flying home to meet grandma.

On her way, she saw her friends who have questions or concerns about what happened to them when they were online: from cyberbully, to computer viruses, to “yucky pictures”, to requests from strangers for password.  Little Bird is able to provide simple solutions and share principles on how to handle different situations. Those solutions are practical and can be applied to all different platforms, such as never tell strangers your name, always keep parents informed.

As parents, we can all relate how hard it is to limit the online exposure at the appropriate age level. There are some very good tools out there, and I am planning to review them. However, no matter how hard you try to protect your child, there’s always the possibility of kids encountering harmful threats or inappropriate content, this little book does a great job in simplifying the complicated concepts into the language a child can understand and equip the children, at a young age, with the necessary skills to be competent in the all connected world and stay safe online.

Little Bird is available on iPAD (not on iPhone or iPod).  It is FREE on App Store.

If you don’t have iPAD, here is a FREE PDF copy of the book.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.

Would you be ok with me sharing the PDF of this one my site? Message me and let me know.

    • I don’t own the PDF. I believe they put the PDF files there for everyone to use. You will have to contact that website if you want to make sure about it.

Thanks so much for including the pdf to download for those of us who only have Androids — it will be neat for me to have for my grandson when he comes over!

    • We should thank the developer AVG for offering the free app and free PDF.

    Good safety message!
