Game of All Ages – Fruit Ninja

Game of All Ages – Fruit Ninja post image

I had always wanted to write about Fruit Ninja, but there were always something else came up.  Now it is the time.  Fruit Ninja is one of the first games my son and I played together.  We had a good time every time we played.

It is a game for all ages, even little babies.  When the game starts, there will be all different types of fruits flying up from the bottom of the screen, you job is to chop each fruit in half before they fall out of the screen, using your fingers as blades.  While you cut, you see all the splashes of fruit juices of different colors.  Who would not love it?  It is messy, only on the screen.  The more fruits you cut within certain time period, the more points you gain.  If you cut more than one fruit with one strike, you get bonus points.

There are different game modes.  In the classic mode, there will be random bombs come up with the fruits.  If you touch them, the game ends right away.  For younger kids and babies, you might want to play in the Zen mode, in which no bombs will come up.

When you finish a game, there will be some interesting fruit facts come up.  My son learned the Lemon will yield more juice if you warm it a little bit before squeezing…

There is a two player mode.  You can play with another person on the same device.  This could be a fun interaction time between you and your child.

The only concern about this app is the game’s connection to the OpenFeint network.  It allows kids to “friend” other members and exchange messages with them. I suggest decline to join OpenFeint before you hand the game to your kids.

iGameMom Comments:

It is a perfect game to train fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  It can also serve as a good channel to release the urge of destroying something.  The sound and color effects make it all feel so real, which really add the fun.  It is $0.99 at App Store.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.

It is a cool game. My son likes to try different blades. — guess it is a boy thing.

  • Fruit Ninja is FUN! My favorite though is playing the Rancor in the Star Wars game. Gets out all your pent-up energy and frustrations.
