myHomework Student Planner app

Is your child good at keeping track of homework? Some kids are good at it, some are not. How do you help the child who always forget homework? How do you help a kid to stay organized and keep track of all homework and school projects? The study tip I can offer today is to use a homework organization app. I will explain why the app is good, and why you should use it together with your child.
Study tip for homework organization, use a free app that can sync across multiple devices. Parents can put it on their devices to help middle school kids learn executive skills that help them succeed in college.
myHomework is a very good tool for kids to organize all these school works. It is available online, so you can access it on your computer. It also has free apps for both Apple devices and Android devices. If you sign up for a free account, you can sync your account on multiple devices.

Another benefit of having an account, you can connect to your teachers’ account if they use myHomework. Kids can receive the homework assignments from the teachers. This makes it a great tool for schools.

To use the app, you can have kids enter all class information first: class name, location, teacher name, and class time.  Kids can choose different colors for different classes.

I like the options for entering class time: Time based, like Monday 10-11am; Period Based, like Tuesday and Thursday 3rd period; or Block Based, like Purple Day 1st block. If no options fit your type of schedule, you can choose other and set it up according to your own pattern.

When kids receive homework, they just need enter homework into the system, with a short description of the homework, which class it is for, due date and time. They can also put in a short note, or attach a document. When they complete the homework, they can mark it as completed.

In addition to homework, kids can also enter other assignments: test, study, read, paper, presentation, lab, quiz, final, project.

With all the information in the system, kids just need check the app regularly. On the home screen, they can see all their classes on the left column, and all their ongoing homework on the right column. If they want to see what is due today, they can tap on the calendar and choose today’s date. They can see the classes they have today, and which homework or project is due today. They can choose any date on the calendar to see what they have to do for that day.

If they are connected with a teacher’s account, kids can also check assignment from that teacher.

The free account does almost everything, but has ads at the bottom of the screen. So far I have not seen inappropriate ads, and they are at the bottom of the screen.

myHomework is a very intuitive system for kids to learn to stay organized and keep track all their school works. I like that it is available on all platforms, computers, Apple devices, and Android devices, and you can sync on all the devices you have. As long as you are ok with the ad at the bottom of the screen, the free account is as good as the paid account. If you don’t like the ads, you can use the premium account, which is only $4.99 a year.
