Free Apps: Interactive Math Toys on iPad

Free Apps: Interactive Math Toys on iPad post image

We reviewed the interactive math toy Tiggly toy when they just came out. It is a fun learning toy integrating the interactive feature of the touch screen. The first set is focused on shapes. This 2nd set is about numbers and additions. It is a great idea for a holiday gift or birthday present for kids 5 and younger.

What is Tiggly? Tiggly is a set of toys that interact with the touch screen. With this new set of toys, kids have bars of different length, 1 square, 2 squares, … to 5 squares. The free interactive apps will encourage kids to find the number of squares they need to play the games. It is a very hands-on approach to teach number and simple math concepts.
Interactive math toys on iPad offers hands-on learning with 6 free apps - you can use the free apps without toys. It is fun hands-on way for preschool kids to learn numbers, counting, addition, subtraction and other math operations and concepts.
Currently there are 3 apps to go with the Tiggly Count toy. All 3 apps are free, and you can even play without the toy.

Tiggly Addventure: kids follow the little tiggly going to places, from forest, to ocean, to space. Kids will help him overcome the barriers – count the right number of bricks to fill the gap in between two hillls, bring the correct number of steps to take tiggly to the top of a post, bring enough building blocks to connect the two ends of a broken bridge. It starts with counting by 1, gradually kids will do skip counting, addition, and subtraction.

Tiggly Chef: kids will follow the recipes to make some yummy food. Of course they have to know numbers to make sure they follow the recipe correctly.

Tiggly Cardtoons: is a fun creative way to have kids help creating the story by counting. When kids select 5 balls, they will be amazed to watch the balls turn into little kittens stuck on the high roof. How to bring them down to the ground?

All 3 apps can be played without the toy, but the toy adds more fun to the learning. It also provides an visual presentation of the numbers, as it is easy to see the bar with 3 squares is longer than the one with 2 squares.

Tiggly Counts is another sets of Tiggly toy that will engage your child in learning. It is especially great for kids who are hands on, kinetic and visual learners.

Tiggly Toys are available on Amazon for $30 each: Tiggly Counts and Tiggly Shapes. All Tiggly apps are available on iPad for free.
