Disney’s Peter Pan has been children’s favorite for more than 60 years. Today children around the world can visit this ageless boy from Neverland on their iPhones, iPods or iPADs. Peter Pan: Disney Classic is a book app, retelling the classic story in a modern approach. The images in the app are original from the movie with very light animations, so kids are not distracted from reading.
Come with the story are 4 coloring pages, 4 puzzle games with 3 difficulty levels, a matching game with three difficulty levels, and a flute activity that kids can listen or play music. With all these activities, my favorite is the flute. Kids can listen to a piece played to them or create their own music. The “learn to play” feature highlights each key, note by note, for kids to follow to play a song.
Kids can choose to have the book read to them, or read it by themselves. When the book is read by the narrator, each word is highlighted while read. A nice feature is “Record your own reading”. Parents or children can record their own reading based on the text from the book or telling the story in their own words.
iGameMom Comments:
Peter Pan: Disney Classic is a book app that is great for quiet time reading. With limited interactivities, it is ideal for story time or bedtime read. It is also a good app for kids to establish the concepts of written words and be aware of the connections between written and spoken words. The “Record your own reading” is a good feature for kids to learn to retell the story in their own words.
The Peter Pan: Disney Classics book app is available for iPhone, iPod, and iPAD. It is $3.99 on the App Store.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
