Brave: Storybook Deluxe – Relive the Disney Movie

Brave Storybook Deluxe

Have you seen the Disney movie Brave?  Brave: Storybook Deluxe is the app adaptation of the movie.  Whether you are trying to re-live the movie experience or to get a glimpse of the story, you won’t be disappointed.   The app skillfully blends illustration, music, animation, and game into the tale of the Scottish princess Merida, who is a strong willed girl challenging stereotype to have her own destiny.  Her story is inspirational to children of all ages.

When you open the app, you will see three options:

Follow along: the story is read for you professionally in a Scottish tone.  A very nice feature is the animated scenes from the movie on some of the pages throughout the book.  I only wish the movie clips are a little longer.

Read and explore: you read the book by yourself.  You can also record your own reading.  This is a nice feature for parents to record their reading so the kids can hear familiar voices even when the parents are not around.  You can explore the pages to find hidden objects that can be used for games.

Play: there are 6 puzzles with 3 difficulty levels each, 6 coloring pages, and two archery games for young kids.  One game needs the arrows hidden on the pages.  You have to read through the app to find the arrows, or you cannot play the game.

iGameMom Comments:

This is a good piece of art.  The story is positive and inspirational, the art and music are beautiful, the illustration and animation are vibrant, and the games integrate with the app smoothly.  It should be in your app collection.

It is designed for kids 4 and up.  It is available for iPhone, iPod, and iPAD.  It is $6.99 at App Store.

If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the link provided. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support!

Hi,
Thanks for the like on my blog. Your site is a good idea. I am so glad my daughter grew up before all the games became big–so much peer pressure and so little supervision of the kids by their parents.
You are providing an excellent service.

Johanna, I agree. The more GOOD apps we offer to the kids, the less chance they will get into the not-so-good ones. Please help bring the awareness among parents – we cannot use iDevices as baby sitters, we have to get involved!
