123 Ninja is a number game app helping kids recognize numbers and improve hand-eye coordination. The game play is very similar to Fruit Ninja. In this game, kids slice on numbers instead of fruits.
On the open screen, you can tap the big Play button to start the game right away. However, if it is for kids, I suggest you go into the setting section first. It is at the top right corner of the open screen. It requires you put three fingers on the screen at the same time to unlock the setting.
Inside the setting, you can set the game difficulty level, such as how fast the numbers come and go, how much they overlap, how many numbers show up at the same time. The Easy setting will only show one number at a time, and at a pace a young child can follow; while a Hard setting will show several numbers at the same time, many are overlapping, and at a very fast pace.
You can also set the game duration of each play. For young kids, you probably want to set it at 1 or 2 minutes. You can also select the numbers to be included in the game – for kids just start learning numbers, you can choose 0-9 or/and 10-19. The numbers go up to 99.
Make sure play a session after you have the settings set up to get a feel if it is at your child’s level before you hand it to your kid, because it can get very hard and kids could be frustrated.
The game is fun to play. Kids will hear a number being announced and they have to slice the number that is called for, without touching any other numbers. They win stars at the end of each game. They will also see a report on which numbers they sliced correctly, and which numbers they missed.
Overall, it is a fun number game to help kids recognize numbers and gain fine motor skills. It is available for iPhone, iPod and iPAD. It is Free for limited time.
