If you have a toddle or preschooler who is learning colors and shapes, go download this preschool color and shape app right away Ask Me! Colors and Shapes: Preschool Edition – the link is at the bottom of this post. It is such a fun app and it is free for limited time to celebrate its 2 million downloads.
It is a very easy app. When kids open the app, they will be asked which they want to play – shape or color. They will see two big buttons on the screen, one says Shape with different shape patterns; one says color with color strips.
Once kids pick one, the game play starts. Kids will see a silly picture of an object of a color and hear something like “This bunny is grey if you ask me”, then a new screen shows up “what other gray things can you see?” Under the question, there are 6 pictures for kids to choose from. If kids don’t choose one within couple seconds, one of the pictures will start jumping up and down as a visual hint. There are usually 2 or 3 pictures fit the question criteria. After kids pick all the correct pictures, the game move on to the next question. “This ladybug is red if you ask me”, “What other red things can you see?” … If kids pick the wrong picture, that picture will drop off the screen and kids will see a big red cross.
The shape game is similar, with the same questioning pattern. The only difference is all the questions are about shapes, instead of colors.
Ask Me! Colors and Shapes: Preschool Edition is very easy to play, but it is so fun. The pictures are bright, and questions are asked in an upbeat pleasant voice. I like how the questions rhyme and catchy, just perfect to engage preschool age kids.
Ask Me! Colors and Shapes: Preschool Edition works on iPhone, iPod and iPAD. It is usually $3.99. It is free for limited time.
