Learn Culture in the World via Music – Jazzy World Tour

Learn Culture in the World via Music – Jazzy World Tour post image

If you are looking for an app to teach your children about culture and various parts of the world, this app is for you. The folks over at The Melody Book have recently released Jazzy World Tour – Musical Journey for Kids. They have developed several music themed learning apps, such as Jazzy 123, Jazzy ABC and A Jazzy Day.  This app focuses on teaching about music and instruments through the exploration of a world tour. The opening screen takes you to a large map of the world; allowing you to select from seven different countries. The United States, Brazil, Spain, and Egypt are only half of the places your child can journey to in this app.

There are a number of great developmental and educational focuses throughout this app. It teaches geography and facts about the different cultures such as animals, food, and flags. This app also has a music focus and allows children to learn about many different instruments. All of this is offered in a fun interactive learning style that will keep your child engaged and entertained.

There are three different options given in each of the seven countries. Your child can choose to learn, play, or create.

The learn section has images of various animals, instruments, foods, or cultural icons that your child can select and learn about from a fact card. The fact card is not read aloud so this is a great opportunity for parents to engage in the app with their child; reading the fact cards and sharing the history and details of that particular item.

The play section already has a scene built out for you and allows your child to touch on the characters and instruments to make animation and music.

The create section is a picture board or much like a sticker book. Kids can select from all the images they just learned about pertaining to that particular culture and create their own scene. They can then take a snapshot and this becomes an inerative movie that goes into the travel book. The travel book is a great way to show off the countries kids have visited. Kids have fun collecting the various snap shots and creating their own scrapbook to share.

Daisy’s Comments:

I love to travel and this app provides a great way to explore.  I love that it offers a child friendly way to learn facts and trivia about so many different cultural norms. Even though this app is geared toward 3-8 year old, my 17 month old has fun on the play screen listening to music.

Jazzy World Tour – Music Journey for Kids is available on iPAD.  It is $4.99 on App Store.
