Cut the Rope released their FREE holiday game app again this year. Like last year, it is only going to be around for a limited time, but it is FREE. If you want to get it, get it when it is available. It is a great physics based game with a lot challenges.
If you have not played the game, you can take a look at iGameMom’s reviews HERE and HERE.
The Holiday Gift has 25 levels of game play. All with holiday backgrounds. The basic game play is still the same, you have to figure out which rope to cut and when to cut the ropes, so the candy on the rope will swing into the cute monster Om Nom’s mouth.
In addition to the games, there are 7 short cartoons about Om Nom. All are fun short videos, great for the holiday play.
Another fun for the kids in this Holiday version is the new feature Make a Photo Greeting Card. You can pick a picture from your photo album, and add holiday decorations and Om Nom to the picture. You can rotate and change the size of each add-on item. It is a great opportunity to have a picture with the cute monster. You can save the picture to your photo album, or share the picture via Facebook or email (only if you connect to your Facebook or email account within the game).
What the kids learn:
Kids learn basic physics concepts, such as gravity, motion, force, and vector. To solve the puzzle, they have to strategically plan out the sequence and timing of the rope cuttings and execute the plan perfectly. For this reason, I suggest this game for kids age 6 or above.
iGameMom Comments:
Cut the Rope is one of my favorite games for kids. It is an active play – kids learn problem solving and strategic planning, in addition to physics. This holiday version adds more fun features, such as creating greeting cards and Om Nom Cartoons. You should definitely get it.
It works on iPhone, iPod, and iPAD. It is FREE on App Store.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store button provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The button works for all countries.
my kids love this! My 2 year old is obsessed with Omnom right now- and my 5 year old loves to try and figure out all the physic puzzlers. I have an Android, but I still love coming to your site and seeing what is new for iphone as Android has some of the same games. Thanks for posting this- i hope its out so they can play it tomorrow before bed.
Android is a little delayed usually. I am sure it will be out soon.
Oh, my preschooler loves this game! Great job breaking down what kids learn from playing it. I love your site, and I’m looking forward to future reviews!
Thank you! My whole family likes this game! My son is much better at it than me 🙂
Thanks a lot for dropping by and liking our new story ” the college drop out”
