Free Learning Website for Kids – Funbrain

Free Learning Website for Kids – Funbrain post image

Have you tried funbrain.com? It is a free learning website for kids from preschool to grade 8. I have not shared the site here because I thought it uses flash and won’t function on iPad and iPhone. But yesterday, I tried it on my iPad and the games and books all worked well. I am so glad that there is one more learning website that is available on mobile devices, so kids can enjoy the fun learning on the go.

If you have not tried funbrain, it is a website with free educational games, online books, and comics. It is created for kids ages preschool through grade 8, offers more than 100 fun, interactive games that develop skills in math, reading, and literacy. Plus, kids can read a variety of popular books and comics on the site, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Amelia Writes Again, and Brewster Rocket.

On the website, there are many different games for different academic skills, and many digitized books. To find appropriate games and books for your kids, I suggest you go to the Teachers Home at the bottom right corner first. There you can search games and books by subject, skill, and grade level. There are also some content that you don’t see on homepage. For example, I found the flashcard maker at Teachers Home, where you can make your own math flashcards. You can pick the math operation you want you kids to practice, you can also pick the integer. After you make these choices, the website will generate the flashcards for your to print out. It is a very handy tool to use.

In addition to the games, kids can also find those popular books, such as Diary of Wimpy Kids. These are the whole books, not just a portion of the books.

FunBrain is a fun educational website with games for kids from preschool to middle school. It is working on iPad and iPhone as well. I highly recommend give it a try.
