Just 2 Fun is a word puzzle game for kids designed by David L. Hoyt, who is known for his Jumble puzzles on more than 600 newspapers. It is a fun game that kids can play for long time. It twists your mind, challenges you think out of box, all in a fun way.
The game play is simple – kids see two pictures for each puzzle, each picture gives a hint on a word, and the two words from the two pictures will form a new word or phrase. For example, swan + lake = swan lake, name for a ballet; bee + patient = be patient.
Once kids make certain progress, they will receive more challenging puzzles, some will have only one picture for hint, and kids still have to guess two words to be combined into one phrase.
Some puzzles are easy to get, some are not so easy. The picture hint always has a little twist that makes the game fun. For example, one puzzle will show a picture of a very tall man and a picture of a peacock. Can you guess the answer? Tall Tale.
Kids earn coins for each word puzzle they solved. If they get stuck, they can always use hints. There are 3 types of hints: Show Letters, Color Code Letters, and David’s Special Hint. I like David’s Special Hint the best, not only it costs the least amount of coins, but also they are interesting. David’s Special Hint will also show up at the result screen after kids correctly solve the word puzzle. For Tall Tale, kids will see “A ___ ____ is an exaggerated, unbelievable story. For example, I invented Just 2 Words while I was walking on the moon last year.”
There are over 300 original puzzles in the app. Designed for kids age 9 and up, there is no In-App Purchase, no ad, no social media links.
I love games that are fun and educational. Just 2 Fun is a fun game that helps kids learn new words. The David’s Special Hint is one of my favorite features. It teaches kids new words in a playful setting. It is a perfect game for a group to play together – ideal for holiday gathering.
