I have reviewed many alphabet apps for kids. Have seen so many great apps, I am hard to be impressed by a new ABC app. But when I checked out Zooper ABC Animals, I feel I can recommend another one to you. It is fun and interactive. Kids will love it.
The app’s interface is very easy to navigate, so kids can use the app all by themselves.
When kids first start the app, they see all 26 letters. They can pick any letter to start with. There are 3 sections for each letter. Kids can navigate the 3 sections by tapping the little buttons at the top of the screen.
Story: kids listen to a fun rhyming story of an animal whose name starts with the corresponding letter. The animal also does something that is related with the letter. For example, “A is for alligator who lives in a swamp, and loves eating apples, chomp chomp chomp chomp chomp!” If kids prefer to read on their own, or if you want to read to kids, you can turn off the narration in the app Setting.
Tracing: the middle section is to ask kids to trace the letters. Kids have opportunities to practice both lower case and upper letters.
Guessing: the last section is a guessing game. Kids will see the letter and several objects outlined in silhouettes. Kids will guess what these objects are and tap on these objects to check if their guesses are right or not. They will hear the names of the objects when they tap on them. After kids guess all the objects, there will be a little video icon moving in from the right side of the screen. Make sure to click on it, you are sure to hear kids giggles with those funny video clips.
Zooper ABC Animals does a great job in engaging kids in learning. Through interactive playful activities, kids will learn to recognize and write the 26 letters, and phonics and the sound of each letter in different words. It is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is $2.99. If you want to check it out, there is a lite version too. The 2nd link below is for the lite version.
If you would like to check it out or purchase it, please use the App Store link provided below. The cost is the same to you, but iGameMom gets a small percentage. Thanks for your support! Note: The link works for all countries.
