If your child is a fan of dinosaurs then this app is for you! From the popular PBS children’s cartoon show comes a fun, educational app all about dinosaurs and the alphabet. This science app allows your child to take a deeper look at dinosaur facts and interact in a way they can’t with the television show. This app encourages your child to explore science and natural history through learning about various dinosaurs with names ranging from every letter of the alphabet. Your child will expand their vocabulary, learn some pretty cool facts about these prehistoric animals, and gain valuable reading skills as the words light up as they are read aloud.
There is a dinosaur for every letter of the alphabet that can be found on the train. Once a dinosaur is selected there are many levels of education and facts to explore. There is an x-ray section that shows off the dinosaurs skeleton, there’s a nutrition section to learn about what that particular dinosaur ate, and an info section to share an interesting fact or two about that chosen dinosaur.
Each section is interactive, allowing your child to move, tilt, and feed the dinosaur. Your child can ‘star’ a dinosaur or mark as their favorite so it will be easy to come back to later.
If you hop off the train, there is an area that lets you see the dinosaurs in various categories. This is a great way for your child to learn categorization and how each dinosaur relates to it’s fellow dinos. The categories are split up by what type of eater the dinosaur is, where they live, or if they got marked as a favorite. There are more dinosaurs being added and you have the option to purchase additional dinosaur packs which will expand the basic collection and give your child even more dinosaurs to learn about.
This app is available in English and Spanish. Dinosaur letters is coming soon and from the sounds of it this new feature will add even more fun to the mix by letting your child create words with the dinosaur letters.
