The Ranger Rick Jr Appventures series is a great app series for kids age 3 to 8 to learn about animals. The Ranger Rick Jr – Bear is the 2nd app in the series. The first app is about Lion. In this 2nd app, kids will learn everything about bears with Ranger Rick Jr.
I like apps that are the most comprehensive in their subject matter. They often use varying methods to impart information to your child and common core standards are generally followed. What we like so much about these kinds of apps are their lack of ‘grind,’ meaning they don’t have your child performing the same thing over and over to get a higher score, like video games often do. These apps offer various levels to keep your child engaged over a broad spectrum of activities.
In this Ranger Rick Jr. Bear app, your child will learn about grizzly bears. There are a few other fun facts about different woodland animals thrown in there as well for good measure. Your child will learn through jigsaw puzzles, videos, sticker pages and games. They will also get to tinker with sounds and music or make kooky mix and match animals.
When they come away from the app they will have a fairly comprehensive overview of the life of a grizzly bear and they will have had lots of fun as well. The best part of all this, is the app is from the National Wildlife Federation so you know you are supporting a fantastic cause. The apps are an investment in the very natural habitats they teach your kids about. Enjoy.

This app sounds wonderful – my son loves bears so I’ll definitely be downloading this one for him. He loves apps with sticker boards, like in the Peppa Pig apps, so that’s a bonus, too!
There is something about digital sticker boards that kids just love! I haven’t looked at the Peppe Pig apps yet, but I will. It’s my son’s favorite show right now. Thanks for the tip.
