Explore mediterranean history with interactive app for kids MedeliaWhen kids arrive the city, they will see a beautifully illustrated city with key architectures and street scenes illustrating daily activities in historical settings. Kids will find people they can talk to from the talking bubbles above those figures’ head. These talking characters will provide basic introduction of the city’s history and places kids should visit. Kids will have a list of treasures they have to find while exploring the city, and a list of questions they should be able to answer after the exploration. They will find different buildings and structures with historical significance.

For example, while scrolling through the whole scene, kids will see an icon that says The Great Palace. Tapping on the icon, kids will learn that the palace is an immense architectural ensemble constructed centuries ago. It was the residence of the emperors until 1204. Many buildings of the palace were constructed from precious materials and lavishly decorated.

While there, kids will find at the top of the palace roof the Ceramic Plate, which is one of the treasures they have to find. Kids will learn that the Plate represents an episode from Digenis Akritas, a famous epic poem in the Byzantine World. The poem is about the adventures of a hero, Basil, whose father is a Saracen emir and mother is Greek. He himself is a warrior of extraordinary strength and courage.

The picture of the city is beautiful, so is the accompanying music. Together, they do a fine job taking the players back into the historical Mediterranean city of the Middle Ages (5th to 15th century).

Kids can play the game in 8 languages, including English, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese.
