Looking for fun math practice app for kids? Do you kids like pirates? If the answer is yes, then this app might just be the one that gets your kids hooked with math. Captain Math is a pirate themed math game app for kids. Designed for kids who are learning addition subtraction multiplication and division, it uses the pirate and ocean theme making the learning fun.
Captain Math is a very straightforward app for some serious math time. When it’s time to memorize some multiplication tables, hone some division skills, or just practice quick addition and subtraction, Captain Math and his mate are here to help. These two adorable pirates (if you can call pirates adorable) stand on the deck of their ship and wait for you to solve an equation for them. They give you a little help with five cannon balls at the bottom of the screen to choose from. Each one is a possible solution, choose the right one and it will hit their target, choose the wrong one….well, it will miss. Don’t worry though, they won’t make you walk the plank, you’ll get to try again.
After you get three equations correct you will earn some points in the form of treasure, naturally. The more treasure you earn, the more levels you unlock and the more difficult the equations get. Simple and clear. This makes the app a great addition to more traditional ways of practicing sums and multiplication tables. Shake up the pencil and paper routine. Put down the flash cards for a minute. Swing these pirates into rotation now and then to make the dry repetition needed to learn maths a little more swashbuckling. Enjoy!
Captain Math is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad. It is $1.99 on App Store.
