Best Grammar Learning Tools for Kids, making grammar teaching or learning fun and engaging. Great resource for grammar activities, games, lesson ideas for English language learning at school or homeschool.
Smashing Grammar: A fun grammar game app for kids in elementary school, including games for noun, verb, tense, plural, spelling, and more. The game gets more difficult as kids progress on the game levels.

Rainbow Sentence: designed to help kids to construct grammatically correct sentences by using color coded visual cues. The who, what, where, and why parts of sentences are color coded to help kids recognize and understand how combinations of these parts create basic sentence structure.

NoRedInk is a grammar teaching and practicing site for kids from grade 1 to 12. Teachers and parents can sign up a free account and set up classrooms to add students, then add assignments for each student based on their level. There are premium features for school districts, but for individuals the free account is pretty comprehensive.

Grammar Wonderland: learn about Nouns, Verbs, or Adjective through fun games.

Grammar Games: kids learn grammars through games. The effort has put in to make the learning as intuitive as possible.

Road to Grammar: not an app, but a website that functions well on smart phones and tablets, including iphone, iPod and iPad. Kids practice many grammar subjects and I like the comparison exercises they have: Adjectives and prepositions, Adjective or Noun, Adjectives with –ed and ing, am is or are.

iLiveGrammar series: combines grammar and science in one app. There are 3 apps in the series: Botany, Autumn, Winter. The grammar lessons are based on science topics. Besides the themed science, kids learn grammars, like Nouns and Verbs; Adjectives and Adverbs; Article, Noun, Conjunctions, and Prepositions.

Grammar Up: a grammar practice app of multiple choice quizzes. It is great for middle school and high school kids to prepare for tests.

Interactive Grammar of English: a comprehensive introductory course in English grammar, it covers the most basic elements to the most complex constructions. It is a great resource for middle school or high school, even college students.

    Wow, great list! We’ve been enjoying the Fix It Grammar series from IEW, but I’ll have to pin this for later to check out the apps once my iPad is fixed.
