Lola’s ABC Party

We have reviewed a couple Lola Panda apps, such as Lola’s Math Train,  and Lola’s Fruit Shop Sudoku.  I am glad to see a new Lola Panda’s app coming out – Lola’s ABC Party.  Like other Lola Panda apps, this is a bright and engaging learning app for kids 3-6.  It begins with simple word recognition, and graduates to more challenging tasks when the child is ready. Great and fun reading practice for preschoolers! When kids start the app, they… Read more

Sprinkle

Sprinkle is a fun physics based game. It just went free for a week.  It is like a combination of Angry Birds and Where is my water.  The story behind the game: inhabitants of Titan, a moon of Saturn, lived out their days peacefully in their straw hut homes – until space tourists from Earth crashed through Saturn’s rings, bringing a storm of flaming asteroids crashing down on the Titans. To combat the widespread fires threatening their homes, the Titans… Read more

Sound Touch – Flash Card With Sound post image

Sound Touch is a great learning tool for young children. It is a flash card app geared toward toddlers and preschoolers, but  the simplicity of this app is great for all ages. This app is a virtual version of flash cards, which helps children to learn name recognition as well as teaching them animal sounds and musical noises. The main screen has 12 clip-art images to select from, and once chosen the screen displays a full screen photo of a… Read more

Vonage Mobile

I have been looking for text free solutions for a while.  When I first got my iPhone, I thought I was not going to text much, mostly just use it for phone calls, so we bought the mobile plan with monthly phone call coverage, and then pay text by number of texts we send and receive.  But now more and more of my friends started texting instead of call, I feel we need to re-evaluate our mobile program, and I… Read more

Math Evolve

Summer is a time kids can take a break from their regular school work.  However, this doesn’t mean they should stay away from learning completely.  If they do, you will see a lot catch up work in the fall just to bring them back to where they were before the summer.  Ideally we want something that is fun and educational at the same time.  Math Evolve is a perfect app for this.  It is FREE now for limited time.  Mastering… Read more

AplusClick

Today I want to introduce a website to everyone – AplusClick.  It is not an app, but a website.   However, it is a website that fully functions on iDevices.  I found many cool kids learning game sites, but most of those sites don’t function on iPAD.  I am so glad this one does, and I like it a lot.  To use a website like an app on your iPhone or iPAD, you can quickly create an app-like icon on… Read more

Bingo Song HD

The Bingo song is a well known classic children’s song. The Bingo Song HD app brings this song to life for kids to interact with, sing along to, as well as fun animal flash cards that helps make learning farm animals fun. This app can help children recognize the names and sounds of animals, various colors and characteristics found in the game, and it lets the child express themselves with a sing-a-long karaoke option to the Bingo Song. This app also encourages clapping and stomping, which… Read more

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Oceanhouse Media has set their book app Just Me and My Mom FREE.  It is part of their Little Critter series by Mercer Mayer.  Little Critter was having a special day in the city with his mother.  They had all the fun together, including the things went unexpected: the train tickets were gone when the conductor came by, the little critter got caught by the museum guard while trying on some costumes … With all these… Read more

Memetales

A while ago I found a Free reading app Memetales.  It offers 15 free books upon registration and every week there will be a new free book for you.  While I went through some of the books, I found out they are all very well made kids books.  Most books are for kids 10 and younger.  I was so impressed with the app and their free offers, I asked Maya Bisineer, the founder and CEO at MeMeTales, give iGameMom’s readers an introduction of… Read more

The Trip Little Critter Reading Adventure

What fun Apps!   The Trip Little Critter Reading Adventure is based on Mercer Mayer’s classic book of the same title and features his incredible original artwork.  It is a story book app with two options. One is to go on a Reading Adventure, two is to just read the story yourself, which is a great option for this app as the Reading Adventure can take a long time. On this adventure the whole Critter Family needs to get to Lake Wakatookee for… Read more

Last week the Piwi kids and I reviewed the first title in the Human Body Detective (HBD) Series by Dr Heather Manley. The main characters are young sisters, Merinn and Pearl, ie. Human Body Detectives.  They show kids 6-12 year olds how their bodies work, and how they can stay healthy with good choices in nutrition and exercise.  In addition to the app, they also have a website and curriculum go with the apps.  We will have a review of the immune system curriculum posted soon.  Today we are sharing… Read more

LEGO App4

When I saw which app I would be reviewing I couldn’t download it fast enough, literally! My son waited for the app to be downloaded onto the iPad while his sister was already playing on her iPod. He was playing catch up for the next few minutes, looking over her shoulder the entire time. I mean, its a cool free LEGO app! The premise is simple. Kids pick a basic LEGO vehicle body, wheel, cabin, and cargo.  They then run… Read more

The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories DrSeuss

The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories by Dr Seuss is another app produced by Oceanhouse Media and adds to their mighty cannon of Dr Seuss related products. I have to admit to being a very late latecomer when it comes to Dr Seuss. I was never introduced to it as a child and hadn’t read any of the stories until I had children of my own. I know, I know! My only excuse is that it just never featured… Read more
